News & EventsThe Trip to The Norman Rockwell Museum On January 27th, some LVA students and teachers visited the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Mass. Rockwell was an important popular artist, whose work extended from early in the 20th century well into the second half of the century. As illustrator for a popular magazine, his paintings were seen by millions of people. His work featured both everyday scenes of American life, as well as American heroes such as "Rosie the Riveter" and political figures, such as John F. Kennedy. This trip offered our students a deeper understanding of American culture, as viewed through the eyes of a great American artist. |
