Tuition: $150.00 if received by July 2nd. After July 2nd, tuition is $175.
Drum usage Fee: $30.00
There will be a fee to use an Afrikan drum provided by Brother Ase. Students may also provide their own drum if it is approved by the teacher. Usage fees are payable directly to Ase-AmenRa Kariamu on the first day of class.

Afrikan Drumming4:00pm – 6:00pm
This is a high energy class teaching the history and rich cultural traditions of West Afrika. Students will learn the different styles and techniques of traditional West Afrikan drumming and learn the traditional songs and the stories of those songs. Discipline and teamwork are important aspects of West Afrikan drumming and will be taught along with proper breathing techniques, body posture and hand positioning. Drums will be provided including the Sangbas, Dun-duns, Djembes, Kenkini, Drumsticks, and Shakaras. No experience is necessary. All ages (entering grade 3 – adults) are welcome. Minimum enrollment for this class is five students and the maximum enrollment is 28 students.
