The Alianza String Quartet, winner of the Grand Prize at the 2007 Plowman National Chamber Music Competition, will be joined by pianist Robert Blocker (left) and bassist Simon Carrington (right) in a program of some of the greatest chamber music literature, including Schubert’s famous “Trout Quintet.” In residence at Yale University, the Alianza Quartet has been noted for “elegant phrasing,” “rock-steady intonation,” and “real character and humor.
