• The Talyllyn Railway in Wales. This was the world's first preserved railway, and their Web site is well worth a visit.
• The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway in South East Kent. This is a 15" guage railway that runs across Romney Marsh.
• The East Kent Railway running between Shepherswell and Eythorne.
• The Kent and East Sussex Railway running between Tenterden and Bodium Castle.
• The Bluebell Railway in Sussex which is home to the largest collection of Southern steam locomotives.
• The West Somerset Railway is one of longest preserved steam and diesel railways in the United Kingdom.
