Nine regular meetings are held each year.  There are no meetings in December, July and August.

Each meeting consists of a business session and a program on one of a wide variety of topics, usually presented by an outside speaker.

Program of Activities for 2011-2012:

September 16, 2011 – Danbury Museum and Historical Society, 10:00 a.m. regular meeting. Guest speaker at 11:00 a.m. – “The Business of Blooms, Tourism at Great Botanic Gardens” – Richard Benfield, Professor of Geography at CCSU, visits gardens all over the world and lectures on cruise ships.

October 21, 2011 – Danbury Museum and Historical Society, 10:00 a.m. regular meeting. Guest speaker at 11:00 a.m. – “Civic – Chamber of Commerce” – Probate Judge Diane Yamin.

November 18, 2011 – Amber Room Colonnade, Stacey Road, Danbury -  registration at 9:45 a.m., program at 11:00 a.m., luncheon at 1:15 p.m.  Program – “From the White House to Your House for the Holidays” – Ruth Loiseau, Master Floral Designer for The White House during the Reagan, Bush & Clinton administrations.  Program only $25 – Program and Luncheon $45. January 20, 2012 - Danbury Museum and Historical Society, 10:00 a.m. regular meeting. Guest speaker at 11:00 a.m. – “Eco-friendly Management of Current Diseases in the Landscape” – Sharon Douglas, Ph.D., plant pathologist and Head of the Department of Plant Pathology and Ecology at CAES.

February 17, 2012 - Danbury Museum and Historical Society, 10:00 a.m. regular meeting. Guest speaker at 11:00 a.m. – “The Healing Power of Herbs” – Master Herbalist Andrea Candee brings over thirty years experience in the natural health world to her seminars on medicinal herbs.

March 16, 2012 - Danbury Museum and Historical Society, 10:00 a.m. regular meeting. Guest speaker at 11:00 a.m. – “A Connecticut Yankee’s Tribute to Chinese Gardens” – Bill Sullivan, an expert on Chinese Gardens.

April 20, 2012 - Danbury Museum and Historical Society, 10:00 a.m. regular meeting. Guest speaker at 11:00 a.m. – Floral Designer Barbara Bruce, Program Chairman, FGCC.

May 18, 2012 - Danbury Museum and Historical Society, 10:00 a.m. regular meeting. Guest speaker at 11:00 a.m. – “Backyard Organic Gardening” – Annie Farrell, Millstone Farm, Wilton, CT.
