Preserving Our Trails:  For Future Generations

You, our neighbors and friends, are our eyes and ears. Let us know of anything you think is a problem. Share with us your ideas, needs and wants. Enjoy your nature preserve from one-half hour after sunrise to one-half hour before sunset.

What You Can Do to Help:
  • Take out what you bring in.

  • Leave our natural surroundings and habitats as you found them for others to enjoy.

  • Take only photographs; leave only footprints.

  • Stay on the trails so as to preserve our underbrush for small animals.

  • Keep pets under control and on a leash.

  • Respect the silence for other hikers and our animal friends.

Prohibited:
  • Destruction, defacement or removal of geological formations, plants or animal life

  • Camping, hunting, trapping, firearms or open fires

  • Motorized vehicles

  • Discarding of brush, littering or dumping

Limited Permission:
  • Horseback riding is restricted to designated bridle trails and must be authorized by city officials.

The Old Quarry Nature Center is patrolled and violators will be referred to the police.

The Old Quarry Nature Center is proud to be
a part of The Danbury Community Network.
