Since its inception in 1971, the Richter Association for
the Arts has hosted some of the most interesting events of the Danbury
area cultural scene. These include lawn arts festivals, lectures, ethnic
performances, and both classical and popular musical presentations. Each
autumn, area artists exhibit their works in Richter's most prestigious
event, the Annual Juried Art Show, to compete for large cash prizes.
In accordance with the wishes of the Richter family, and
with financial support from the Danbury Cultural Commission, corporate,
business and private donations, and members' dues, all programs are open
to the public free of charge or for a nominal fee.
