PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE On behalf of the Rotary Club of Danbury – Sunrise, I would like to welcome you to our website. The information we have placed on the site is an overview of the club’s activities over the course of this year. The many projects of the Sunrise members make a difference in our local community, other communities in the U.S. and around the world. Rotarians are committed to the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self”. The Sunrise Club is one of over 30,000 clubs in 161 countries. It is service, which brings us together, and fellowship, which binds us. Our weekly meetings are where we decide on service project, have an opportunity to meet and network with our fellow members, and gain valuable information from our speakers. The real work of Rotary takes place outside of our meetings when our members involve themselves in the service areas, which interest them, the most. Among the many services we have provided are: n Dress For Success”, a clothing drive for children who are returning to school n Student of the Month which each month honors a high school student who best represents the ideals of Rotary n Bell-Ringing at holiday time for the Salvation Army n A bus tour for senior citizens of local holiday decoration n Polio-Plus fundraising to eradicate polio around the world n Clean-up at a local park n A Pro-Am Golf tournament to raise money for local charities

Police/Firefighter Awards Dinner to honor Danbury’s finest The list goes on and on. We have
enough activities during the course of the year to suit the time and needs of
every member. We offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere where fellowship and fun
