Junior High Faith Formation
The Junior High Faith Formation program provides small group catechesis for students in grades seven and eight on Sunday mornings (10:00–11:45 a.m.), September through April in the St. Gregory the Great School building. Creed, prayer, liturgy and morality are the four pillars of this traditional Catholic curriculum. Classes are not scheduled on Sundays when the public schools are observing a three-day weekend. Diocesan guidelines regarding attendance are maintained; students who are absent for regular sessions are required to submit makeup work.
The Junior High Faith Formation Process is a two-year journey, beginning with seventh grade, continuing through eighth grade, culminating with the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation in the fall of the ninth grade year.
Immediate catechesis for the Sacrament of Confirmation is separate and in addition to the general faith formation process and is provided for all parish students enrolled in either our Sunday classes or the parochial school. Registration for immediate catechesis occurs in January.
