We come before you with the desire to form
a human community reconciled between young and old, between men and
women, among different cultures. We long to overcome the disunity among
Christians. We entrust ourselves to you, we entrust our world to you.
Lord, renew in us the gift of your Spirit
so that washed in the waters of repentance, we may glorify your name
and proclaim your mercy with one heart and soul.

Open our mind to the meaning of the scriptures
so that may become for us the living words and enlighten our hearts. May
your Spirit fill us with your love and inspire our prayer today for our
brothers and sisters and for the perfect unity of your church. We ask
this in the name of Jesus Christ who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit
for ever and ever. Amen.
In January the faith communities of:
St. James Episcopal, St. Gregory the Great, RC , King Street United Church
of Christ, United Methodist Church of Danbury, St. Paul Lutheran, First
Congregational Church of Danbury, New Hope Baptist Church join together to celebrate Christian Unity. |
