Faith Formation for Grades K-6
Our Faith Formation process provides ongoing children’s catechesis for students in grades K-6 who do not attend a Catholic School. Our program incorporates doctrine, worship, scripture and service presented at an age-appropriate level and offers a genuine understanding of traditional Catholic beliefs. Classes are held in St. Gregory’s School Building on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. from late September through early May. Our schedule follows the Danbury public school calendar. Registration occurs in May for the following year, but new parishioners are invited to enroll their child when they register with the parish or by calling the Office of Faith Formation at 203-743-5168.
Preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist is separate and in addition to the general Faith Formation classes. Immediate preparation for these sacraments is provided for all parish children and includes those enrolled in the Faith Formation program, parochial schools, or home study programs. As part of the process, a fun-filled retreat helps the family prepare their child for the sacraments. Registration for sacramental preparation begins in January.
