Rite of Christian
Initiation for Adults
Several adults have started their journey to becoming Catholic. Follow
them through the various rites, concluding with their acceptance on
Holy Saturday.
My Brothers and Sisters God has called these catechumens
and they have answered the call.
Dear catechumens, you have agreed to try our way of life
in Christ. I now sign you with the cross of Christ. Receive this cross
on your forehead. By this sign of his love, Christ will be your strength.
Learn now to know and follow him.
Deacons, Catechists and the RCIA team follow Fr. Arrando
in signing each with the cross.
Receive the sign of the cross on your ears, may you hear
the voice of the Lord.
Receive the sign of the cross on your eyes,
may you see the glory of God.
Receive the sign of the cross on your lips, may you respond
the word of the Lord.
Receive the sign of the cross on your shoulders,
may you accept the burden of carrying the cross of Jesus Christ.
Receive the sign of the cross on your hands, may you be known
in the work you do in the name of Jesus the Christ.
My Brothers and Sisters in Christ, are you resolved to aid
our new Catechumens in their pursuit of Faith?
