We recognize the need for our young people to come together and grow in their faith development within the church community. Accepting the gift of adolescence and inviting youth to participate in all ministries and activities of parish life should be the work of all who are concerned with the future of the Church. Our challenge is to help youth use their considerable energy and efforts in positive ways. There is nothing that can compare with the increase in sensitivity to others, sense of personal value, and compassion that adolescents develop when caring adults provide concrete structures to channel their energy. Combined with this involvement is reflection which brings them to new insights and a more positive view of themselves, their world and their future.
At St. Gregory the Great, we feel a strong commitment to our young adults; therefore, we provide an optimum youth program which combines service, spirituality and social interaction. Our high school youth group is multi-dimensional. Discussion groups, community-building, guest speakers, prayer and worship, recreation, field trips, seasonal parties, events and service projects are facets of our parish youth group program. Weekly meetings are generally held in the Parish Office Community Room on Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm. Watch for YOUTH GROUP details in the weekly Sunday bulletin.
