Roosevelt
School
As school is
winding down, I’d like to thank all of you for the gifts and donations you have
made to Roosevelt School. The families and students appreciate the clothes,
toys, books, household goods, and Christmas gifts you have so graciously given.
It’s so great to have a full toy drawer for kids to pick from after I’ve given
them a shot or they’ve had a bad day. Our children’s clothing cabinet has saved
many a child from humiliation as they come to change their clothes after
accidents or spilled drinks. It’s so good we can recycle our worldly goods and
God’s gifts to us. Please keep Roosevelt School in your prayers as the problems
are very large.
God bless you,
Nancy Munn
WE HAVE AN
OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU!
You have the opportunity to become better acquainted with Valley's great
children and youth! Why not teach one quarter of Sunday school! We have
openings in the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters. Sunday school starts on
September 9th.
The Staff at Valley Presbyterian thanks the congregation
for the lovely reception and gifts at the staff recognition coffee hour on May
6. we do indeed serve a church where “Love Grows Here”. Sincerely, Ann
Beams, Tom Cultice, David McGuire, Max Vladimiroff, Gerry Willmann, and
babysitters, Lilliane and Simone.
A life of discipleship is about service in the spirit of
Christ. There are so many ways to serve as we live, and even some ways to serve
after we die! Passed on to Ann from a Valley church member:
“The National Disease Research Interchange is a non-profit
organization dedicated to the recovery and distribution of human tissue for
biomedical researchers. To learn more about how you and your family can further
help the progress of rare disease research, call NDRI at (800) 222-6374.
Let's Celebrate God -- Visually!
Flowers add a wonderful visual touch to the sanctuary and the communion table,
especially when placed near the Celtic cross, our visual centerpiece. Many
of you have enjoyed the flowers presented in the past and have often commented
on them. Currently Valley has essentially expended the reserve fund for
flowers every Sunday, so congregation support is sought.
If you have garden flowers that you are willing to share, please contact me.
If you would like to do an arrangement yourself for a particular Sunday, please
contact me to be sure no one else has requested that same Sunday. If you
want to provide flowers but feel you don't have the skills to arrange them, I'll
gladly but and arrange one or two flower bouquets as has been done in the past.
If you want to buy the flowers but have me arrange them, that also can be done.
Any ideas you may have concerning flowers and/or plants in the sanctuary are
always welcome. Please share these ideas with me so we can all participate
in glorifying God and worshipping Him with our senses.
