During April we dedicated
the offerings collected for One Great Hour of Sharing, and once again the
generosity of Valley’s members was evident. We raised $1470 for this special
fund raiser, which included $80 in coins that were in the “fish boxes” given to
the youth of the church. The money collected will be shared among Presbyterian
Hunger Program, Self Development of People, and Presbyterian Disaster
Assistance. Thanks to everyone who supported these worthy causes.
We also saw our “Piano Fund”
grow significantly during April, thanks to the concert organized by Max
Vladimiroff, which generated a profit of over $750. A generous matching gift
from a member of the congregation, along with previous donations means that we
now have about $2000 reserved for a new piano. Plans are being evaluated on how
to obtain a new instrument for Valley, which will enhance our worship, and
provide new opportunities for music programs. Stay tuned for more information on
this topic.
