Who We Are
YRTA is the first teen organization in Connecticut to sponsor a Teen AIDS Awareness Youth Empowerment Conference. Our mission is to:
- Increase AIDS awareness
- Fight ignorance of the disease
- Help those who are HIV positive or have AIDS
- Do things for and with people who are HIV positive and have AIDS
YRTA first began in the fall of 1993 as teens from several high schools gathered to plan a World AIDS Day program. During the second meeting, they chose to become an organization. YRTA was born!
