Sasha Abrahamson, B.S.
Sasha Abrahamson is the community AIDS Educator at Interfaith AIDS Ministry of Greater Danbury. Sasha’s previous experiences working with HIV/AIDS prevention education have included peer education as well as an internship with the University of New Hampshire’s Office of Health Education and Promotion. She attended the Poughkeepsie Day School in New York where she was trained as an HIV/AIDS peer educator. Through her experiences there, she provided HIV/AIDS education to students in grades six through twelve, as well as participating as a youth facilitator and the student member on the planning committee for the annual Youth in Action AIDS conference that served all of the secondary schools in Dutchess County. Sasha continued her efforts at the University of New Hampshire as a sexual health peer educator where she updated and co-facilitated various sexuality education programs which included information on safer sex, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, contraceptive options, sexual health, and gender issues. In addition to the peer education, she served as the Sexual Health Intern at the University of New Hampshire Health Services where she worked to update the sexual health peer educator’s manual. She also co-created and facilitated the weekly informational program on contraceptive options. Sasha is certified as a Red Cross HIV/AIDS Educator and has a bachelor degree in Family Studies from the University of New Hampshire.
